Alumna’s Play to Make NYC Premiere

“Mad & a Goat,” a two-woman play by ĢƵ alumna Diana Lynn Small ‘09, makes its New York City premiere July 22-30 at Brooklyn Yard. Small, who received an MFA from the Michener Center for Writers at UT Austin, wrote and directs “Mad & a Goat.” ĢƵ alumnae Heather Ostberg Johnson ‘10 and Paige Tautz ‘14 perform in the play, which features original music composed by alumnus James Hapke ‘09.
Mitchell Thomas, ĢƵ professor of theater arts, directed Small’s play, “Good Day,” in conjunction with the showing of “Mad & a Goat” at ĢƵ in October 2015.
Small premiered her first, full-length play, “Muevéme, Muevéte” at ĢƵ in February 2009. At Commencement that year, she earned the college’s Dave Dolan Award, given to a graduate whose campus leadership has made significant contributions in our awareness and response to the social and spiritual needs of the community, the nation and the world.
